Device augmentation with AI
Our client's core product is a smart kitchen appliance supported by a mobile application. Apart from receiving and processing data from the device, it's meant to provide AI-powered assistance with enriching recipes and suggesting replacements for missing ingredients.
Focus on the user
Other milestones in the development of AI behind the application are smart suggestions for spice blends and flavor customization based on the user's individual preferences.
Understanding spices
The most significant challenge we encountered was "how to make software understand what are ingredients and how to use them?". We were facing a lot of experimentation with Machine Learning models.
Personal preferences
There is no "one-size-fits-all" solution in the culinary realm. Taste preferences are subjective, and this is reflected in numerous approaches to blending herbs and spices. We had to take it into account.
