FOCUS AREA

Challenge, approach, and impact

  • Challenge

The main objective was to create a dedicated online store that would allow them to avoid the standard 30% margin taken by platforms like Google Play and Apple Store on in-app purchases, such as pearls in the game. It was crucial to ensure that users could buy products directly, thereby increasing the profitability and financial independence of our client.

Given that the main users are players from Malaysia, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates, as well as from the United States, where 80% of the customers are located, the store had to be designed with the diverse needs and cultural preferences in mind. This also meant implementing effective SEO strategies to reach a broader audience and increase the store's visibility in search engines.

  • 1 stage - Building the Foundation

The initial stage of the project for the online game store focused on creating a basic yet effective version exclusively available to a selected group of players with unique invitation codes. The goal was to test whether players were willing to make purchases outside the game environment. Two main payment methods, PayU for Polish customers and Xsolla for international markets, were introduced to facilitate financial management and reduce margins. Integration with the game's backend allowed for personalized offerings and seamless use of purchased items in the game. The application, developed in 2.5 months, laid the foundation for further development and success of the online store over the course of a year.

  • 2 stage - Innovation and Efficiency

Within the project, a groundbreaking achievement was the implementation of personalized offers based on individual player characteristics and behaviors, facilitated by seamless integrations with the game's backend. Furthermore, a comprehensive UX/UI redesign paved the way for the introduction of additional games, showcasing significant business value. Foreseeing the future need for flexibility, the strategic creation of a modular repository by Krystian allowed for efficient code swaps in subsequent project phases, ensuring stability and reliability while enhancing system scalability.

  • Stage 3 - Elevating the Online Gaming Store

Our focus centered on integrating a second game into the online store and preparing the platform for future expansion. Addressing the challenge of differing backend endpoints between the two games, Krystian took a tailored approach for each, customizing code and functions for seamless integration. Simultaneously, we enhanced the UX/UI to ensure a smooth navigation experience for users switching between games. Additionally, Krystian introduced deep linking for user authentication, streamlining the process and enhancing overall player satisfaction.

  • 4 stage - Store Upgrade: SEO and Branding Success

In the fourth phase, we successfully built dedicated websites for each game in our client's portfolio. Utilizing reusable component templates, we crafted cohesive web pages with a distinct character. Integral to this achievement was SEO optimization, enhancing the store's visibility in search engines. Simultaneously, intensive branding efforts strengthened the store's recognition through consistent visual identity elements. This milestone ensures the online store's long-term success, harmonizing technical efficiency with compelling branding.
