Meet Yuriy, KindGeek DevOps Engineer & IT Administrator

KindGeek has been for 7 years on the market; we’ve grown into a team of 180+ geeks, and we’re continuing to expand across all areas of the company. Fintech is our key domain with over 80% of the projects in the industry, but we also work in Education, Media, Retail, and Healthcare. We believe in a product-oriented approach and build products focusing on the final users.

Time to meet the DevOps Engineer & IT Administrator at KindGeek, Yuriy!

Who you wanted to become when you were a child?

I dreamed of many different professions. But for the most part, it was something like a construction worker, like my dad.

Describe the beginning of your career. How did you start?

I later wanted to be an engineer, so I enrolled in programming, and realized that it was not my thing. But I studied well and decided to give it a chance.

How did you learn about KindGeek?

Like many of my colleagues, I learned about KindGeek when I was still at the university. Our CEO taught courses there.

How did the company change over the years?

In my opinion, KindGeek has changed radically from the beginning of its existence until now. Projects have become more complex, people gained more experience, and now we are much more mature, grown-up.

What did you take from working at KindGeek?

I have been working for the company for 54 months or 4.5 years.

The company gave me a lot of growth and stability. The most important thing that KindGeek has given me are my friends and amazing colleagues.

For me, KindGeek is about relationships, about people. If I had to describe my work here in just three phrases, I would say:

"What problem are we solving?"

"That had to be done yesterday"

"Please, come here ASAP”

Do you have anything that was difficult for you in the beginning and is very easy now?

I had many different tasks when I was just starting as a System Administrator. Once I had to carry the floor materials to the fifth floor. Gosh, that was the hardest thing I have ever done at KindGeek.
