Time to meet the Software developer at Canary Technology Innovations, Ana-Maria!

What are your primary responsibilities and what does your day-to-day look like?

My responsibilities are to implement features on the front-end side of web applications, to help my colleagues when issues arise or just to work together in finishing tasks.

I'm involved in fixing bugs and deploying web applications, and I'm also learning some development on the back-end side of the projects.

What do you find to be the most exciting aspect of Canary Technology Innovations?

The most exciting aspect is that I have learned a lot and experimented with a lot of technologies. It is a place where you can learn and grow professionally, with a great team.

Everyone is very helpful and friendly, we work really well together and we support each other. It is a very calm place; I really enjoy working here.

What has been your favorite project at Canary Technology Innovations?

My favorite one so far was a React web application that I worked on with two of my favorite colleagues for a Pharmaceutical company.

It was a very complex project and it was implemented by another team. It had a lot of new technologies that I had not worked with before and I had the opportunity to learn a lot of new things.

When are you the happiest?

When people need something that’s hard to do or I don’t know how to do it, and I manage to complete it for them.

I am always the happiest when I can help other people resolve their issues, or help them learn something. And I am also the happiest when I can be free, free to choose.

If you were an animal what would you be?

My favorite animal is the tiger; tigers are the largest living cat species. In my opinion it is the most beautiful animal and most dangerous because it is a predator. It is also solitary but social at the same time. They are very territorial and vengeful animals, and very independent. I have pictures of tigers everywhere; they inspire me.

What's your favorite line from a movie?

“ Every path is the right path. Everything could've been anything else. And it would have just as much meaning.”

It’s a line from the movie Mr. Nobody. The movie is about the butterfly effect and chaos theory. You are presented with different choices that Nemo (the main character) makes, and how his life with the different choices lead him, different versions of his existence.
