Time to meet the Backend developer at Valens, Azra!

Why did you join Valens, and what has kept you here?

I joined the company because I saw opportunity as a way to contribute to an exciting and great projects. I've seen Valens consistently listed as one of the top places to work.

My experience in technology and developing new products has me intrigued by this position. What kept me in Valens is that I am part of a team that knows that everyone's role is important and valued.

What do you find to be the most exciting aspect of Valens?

The most exciting aspect of Valens, in my opinion, is the teamwork and the atmosphere where every individual feels comfortable and useful. We solve every task we receive as a team without any hesitation. It is exciting that the team is growing and progressing in every sense of the word every day. The atmosphere in the company is incredible and everyone respects each other.

How do you spend your time outside of the office?

As a developer, I spend most of my days in front of a computer which is obviously not the healthiest thing to do. That's why I try to minimize the time spent in front of the screen when I'm not at work, to give my eyes and back the rest they deserve. I enjoy nature trips. I visit places I haven't had the chance to before and enjoy their beauty.

Basically you can say that I enjoy being outside. When the weather doesn't allow going out into nature, I like to spend quality time with friends and work colleagues

What's your favorite quote, or motto?

My favorite quote is from my favourite childhod movie The Lion King and its “Hakuna matata”.

“Hakuna matata” is actually a phrase in the East African language of Swahili that literally means “no trouble” or “no problems”. What made The Lion King memorable to me is in some ways a warning about the blinding effects of power and those who will do anything to have control.

How do you define success in life?

Success, for me, will always be about making a difference in other people’s lives. Success is when you are truly happy with what you do and achieve in life, regardless of the opinion of the environment or individuals.

I like to maintain a level of productivity and understand my successes and failures without a problem.

When are you the happiest?

My happy moments rarely happen when I’m alone. I like to hang out with people and it's something that makes me truly happy. I like to make other people happy if I can and it fulfills me in so many different ways. I am happy when my loved ones are happy and healthy. I am also happy when I have a successful day at work
