Find out more about Miquido!
While working at Miquido for over six years, Jerzy has seen the company grow from a small software house to a company hiring over 200 employees and has helped to build partnerships with top brands worldwide.
Let’s dive into the work and life of this software developer turned manager.
What are your primary responsibilities at Miquido?
I’m responsible for a couple of different things, mainly for Miquido’s Artificial Intelligence team, managing research on new technologies, feasibility studies and prototype development. With the AI team, we test out our own ideas for new products or apps, and I’m also in charge of fitting our AI solutions to existing applications.
I could be called a consultant in that regard as I often take part in calls with our current or potential clients to advise them on what AI solutions will work out in their case. I’m also in charge of improving our offer when it comes to new technologies.
What do you find to be the most exciting aspect of Miquido?
For me personally, it’s simply the fact that we create awesome products for awesome brands. I find it exciting that we’re able to come up with tech solutions for established companies worldwide and solve their problems as both advisors and developers.
It feels rewarding that our ideas in regards to which business route to take, what to test, what’s worth investing in, etc. bring in the results for our clients.
What was your proudest moment at Miquido?
I actually have two of those. One was that time when we built a finished Android app for a unicorn startup in the span of three months and did so within a tight budget. It felt very rewarding to rise up to that challenge, especially seeing how it was the start of a long-term and very productive collaboration.
The second one was a project that we did for one of the most prominent music labels in the world. We were able to finish an MVP in two months, and they told us we accomplished more in that time than their previous contractor did in two years. They’ve been our client ever since.

How has Miquido helped you in your career development?
That’s a funny one, mainly because I came to Miquido with basically no experience in project management. My wife worked at Miquido for a year before I landed a job there, so I knew all about the great atmosphere and awesome people. It was a dream job for me.
I previously worked as a developer, mainly writing desktop applications, but I knew I lacked the experience in mobile app development that was required to land a job at Miquido as a developer. Because of that, I decided to change my career path to project management, as Miquido was looking for one at the time.
So basically, my career as a manager started with that job offer. After a few years of leading projects, I decided to come back to the technical side of things and became responsible for our research and development team, and that’s also where I started to advise our clients on the technologies they should use.
I was able to gain a lot of experience in managing both projects and people. That has helped me develop organizational skills, but I’m also grateful I was given the opportunity to stay in touch with the technical aspects of the job when I said I wanted to do so. All those things have helped me to become a full-fledged professional.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Honestly, spending time with my family is what gives me the most joy. Family vacations are my happiest moments during the entire year.
When it comes to my hobbies, I’d have to say I’m a huge gearhead. I love home automation gadgets, and I think I currently own about a hundred of them. That’s a small passion of mine.
If you weren’t in your current job position, what would you be doing right now?
That’s an easy one: I’d probably be a software developer. I sometimes miss the old days when I used to come to work and write a piece of code that would solve a specific problem.
I’m sort of making up for it by writing bots and scripts automating certain processes within the company. It’s technically not part of my responsibilities, but it’s fun to do, so I’m always up for it.
What’s the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
It’s very hard to pick one place. I really enjoy the Mediterranean areas, I’ve had a great time traveling to Cyprus, Greece, Malta… so places where it’s sunny, there’s a beach and I can relax.
What is the one thing you can’t live without?
Not a thing per se, but I can’t live without my family. Right now, I can’t imagine myself being away from them for anything longer than a week.
