Time to meet the UX at Digitalya OPS, Alexandru!

What have you gained from working at Digitalya?

Lots of experience. Since joining Digitalya, we have solved lots of issues for our customers in different backgrounds. We are versatile people that help different industries along our journey.

All these challenges turned out beneficial, especially for me, since I learned to understand people from so many different backgrounds. It's amazing to be so adaptable.

What are your primary responsibilities and what does your day-to-day look like?

Well, sometimes the day can be interesting, sometimes I have to make it so. Having projects on hand can keep you busy the whole day, and sometimes you fill the available time by reading about graphic design or UX thingies, or just fiddling in Figma and finding new ways to optimize the work, or test things.

What drew you to the IT industry? Have you always worked in UX design roles?

There had to be a career change for me. When I got back from working abroad, my skill set was not so much in need (I was a video editor/motion graphic designer) so I tried freelancing, but again... didn't work so well.

I had experience in working with people, time management, and also the skills that were necessary for graphic, video and animation.

Lucky for me, the skills acquired along the way were actually hand in hand with the UX field, so I gave it a shot. My brother also played a major role in this, so I am super grateful for his support!

What are 3 words to describe Digitalya?

Three words that come to my mind would be: adaptable, supportive, and zealous. I think these describe us pretty well.

Before working at Digitalya, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

Before I came to work at Digitalya, one of my past jobs was as a video editor and motion graphic designer at a company in Vienna, Austria. I had the opportunity to create ads that were displayed around Europe.

It is quite an energy/morale booster, knowing I did all this in the past. There were hardships back then, but I am glad I had that wonderful experience.

When are you the happiest?

I get to be the happiest when all things lead to pleasant outcomes. I like to see happy clients, happy colleagues and in general happy people. It's not all that complicated. :)
