Partnering with Rubix redefined athletic rehabilitation by combining AI-driven EMG analysis with digital health solutions to enable faster, more precise recovery pathways for athletes.
Challenge, approach, and impact
No real-time and objective feedback on muscle recovery progress
Existing system relied on outdated tools that produced delayed, innacurate feedback on recovery. Without real-time EMG-driven insights, clinicians and coaches had no reliable way to objectively track muscle activation and fatigue, forcing decisions based on guesswork rather than data.
Inefficient recovery analysis extends rehabilitation timelines
Fragmeted and manual analysis processes made it impossible to quickly identify recovery milestones or adjust rehabilitation protocols on the fly. The result was unnecessarily prolonged recovery periods, directly impacting athlete performance and their return-to-play timelines.
Existing digital ecosystem was fragmented
Recovery data, training protocols, and clinical insights lived in separate, disconnected systems. With no single source of truth, teams struggled to collaborate effectively, and feedback loops were to slow to be actionable, creating bottlenecks at every stage of the rehabilitation process.
Limited cross-device usability
The platform lacked a consistent, optimised experience across devices. Athletes, coaches, and medical teams each had different access needs, but the existing tools failed to meet any of them well. Limiting adoption and reducing the overall effectiveness of the rehabilitation workflow.
Poor scalability to support professional sports organizations
Infrastructure was built for a narrow use case and couldn't grow with demand. As the client sought to onboard larger sports organisations and expand their user base, the system's architectural limitations made scaling both technically difficult and operationally risky.
