WellBit is a B2B health and wellness platform helping companies prevent revenue loss by tracking employee physical and mental health metrics. UppLabs acted as technical co-founder, building the MVP from scratch in 2.5 months with wearable integrations (Fitbit, Misfit, Jawbone), 8 health calculators, gamified rankings, and motivation boards. The platform secured Series A funding post-launch.
Challenge, approach, and impact
No Technical Co-Founder
WellBit had a strong business vision for a B2B employee wellness platform but lacked a technical co-founder to lead architecture decisions, technology stack selection, and development execution. The client needed a trusted technical partner who could act as CTO from day one.
Wearable Device Integrations
The platform required seamless integrations with multiple wearable devices including Fitbit, Misfit, and Jawbone to collect real-time employee health metrics. Each device had distinct APIs and data formats requiring a unified abstraction layer.
Complex Health Calculation Engine
The product required 8 distinct health calculators covering BMI, body fat, hydration, sleep quality, and other wellness metrics. Each calculator needed to process wearable data accurately and present results in a gamified, motivating format for employees.
2.5 Month MVP Deadline
The client needed a fully functional MVP within 2.5 months to validate the concept and pursue Series A funding.
