Problem Statement
Cargo Chief, faced significant operational inefficiencies due to constant changes in supplier and manufacturer schedules. Their manual load planning process was prone to frequent human errors, slow recalculations, and suboptimal delivery coordination—leading to increased lead times, high storage and shipping costs, and declining client satisfaction. The lack of a responsive, data-driven planning system limited their ability to manage transportation resources effectively.
Scope
We agreed to develop a semi-automated load planning system for Cargo Chief that integrates with production schedules, automates truck and delivery planning, tracks material availability in real-time, and recalculates production plans based on changing conditions. The solution includes a scalable multi-tenant architecture, intuitive UI, and smart optimization using Google OR-Tools.
