Integration of Schools in Trento Province into a Web Portal
The project involved integrating all schools of Trento province in Italy into a common resource through a web portal. The portal provides access to news, information, timetables, materials download, and communication via a forum for school representatives.
Enhancements to Liferay Functionality
Developers modified Liferay's standard functionality by extending and upgrading features such as Liferay core portlets, Web Content List, and Web Content Display. New features added include content filtering, search and selection within lists, RSS-feeds, archiving lists by year and month, sending articles via email, and autocomplete for form fields.
Data Import Mechanism
A data import mechanism was implemented to automate content import from the customer's previous database, reducing manual input. The mechanism enhances the efficiency of data retrieval and publishing on the portal.
Role Assignment and User Rights Improvements
Standard processes for role assignment and user rights were enhanced. The project introduced the ability to preset pages for content publication, improved role-based rights assignment, and enhanced user groups-based searching within the portal.
