NRTH is a UK fintech platform that lets SMEs collect payments from customers via Direct Debit and instant bank transfer, and pay employees and suppliers in batch - all in one product. Sixcore owned the full build: architecture, compliance framework, and four financial provider integrations. The platform went from concept to live product serving UK businesses.
Challenge, approach, and impact
No single platform for collecting and paying
UK SMEs were managing payment collection, payroll, and supplier payments across separate tools with no shared data. The client needed one platform that handled the full financial operations cycle, built to FCA standards, without requiring an in-house compliance or engineering team to maintain it.
Four regulated providers with incompatible APIs
The platform required Direct Debit via a BACS bureau, instant bank payments via open banking, virtual GBP accounts per client, and KYC/KYB identity verification. Each provider had different authentication schemes, webhook formats, and failure behaviours. Building a coherent product on top of all four was the core technical challenge.
Compliance from day one, not as an afterthought
As an FCA-aligned financial product, NRTH needed KYC and KYB verification before platform access, transaction limits, full audit trails, UBO checks, and sanctions screening. These weren't features to add later - they had to be designed into the architecture from the start.
