About
Lokka is a Web3 sports tokenisation platform built on Hedera. Clubs launch fan tokens with governance and staking mechanics; fans collect and trade NFT player cards and blockchain-based event tickets. The platform combines primary issuance, secondary market trading, fan engagement and rewards into one ecosystem — with $24.8M monthly trading volume and 12,847 active traders.
Challenge, approach, and impact
Challenge 1: NFT & Token Smart Contract Architecture
Designing and deploying smart contracts for multiple asset types simultaneously — fan tokens (ERC-20), NFT player cards (ERC-721), and marketplace operations — while ensuring gas efficiency, transfer restrictions, and secondary market settlement logic worked cohesively across all asset classes.
Challenge 2: Marketplace & Secondary Market Mechanics
Building a dual-layer marketplace supporting both primary issuance and secondary trading with real-time ownership verification, listing/settlement flows, and wallet-connected UX — while maintaining performance under concurrent transactions and ensuring asset discoverability across multiple token types.
Challenge 3: Governance, Staking & Community Mechanics
Implementing token utility beyond trading — staking mechanisms, governance participation, fan reward systems and community engagement flows — required balancing on-chain logic with intuitive UX for non-crypto-native sports fans unfamiliar with Web3 interactions.

Testimonials
George
Lokka
“We needed a team that understood both blockchain architecture and consumer product thinking. OTAKOYI delivered the full ecosystem — token contracts, NFT marketplace, staking, governance — and made it feel intuitive for fans who had never touched Web3 before. Rare combination.“
