About
TO Live, a non-profit organization running Toronto's major arts and cultural venues, partnered with Ollon to revamp their website after facing issues with IBM's slow and costly support. Ollon rebuilt the front end, fixed search and filters, integrated Ticketmaster and Contentful, and deployed single sign-on venue WiFi, establishing a long-term partnership with TO Live.
Challenge, approach, and impact
Enterprise Vendor Replacement
TO Live's website was managed by IBM, and technical issues were resolved slowly and at high cost. The site was not ready to launch, and there was a backlog of work needing clean up and strategic oversight.
Mobile Responsiveness and User Experience
The site's CSS was not responsive across devices, which was the main issue blocking launch. Search loaded indefinitely without results, filters were broken, and mobile navigation had problems.
No Connection with Attendees Inside Venues
TO Live wanted to collect data and deliver personalized content during live events, but had no way to connect with attendees once they were inside the venue.
Content Management and Discoverability
The content team could not keep pace with a growing range of programs in Contentful without developer help, and the site needed better search visibility for people looking for arts and entertainment programming.
