Challenge, approach, and impact
High-Volume Reliability
SmartTab needed a "POS that doesn't suck"—one capable of handling the extreme velocity of nightclubs and bars where high-volume orders (8,000+ daily) are the norm. The scope involved replacing a failed pilot version with a robust, scalable architecture. Key challenges included ensuring zero downtime during internet outages and minimizing UI friction for staff to prevent transaction delays and financial loss from chargebacks.
