MetroTables is a restaurant reservation project designed to solve variable dining traffic. The web app addresses low off-peak occupancy by offering a dynamic pricing booking engine that shifts with real-time consumer demand. Built with a clean interface and tested across 400 scenarios, it simplifies table booking, helping venues maximize revenue while providing diners with clear incentives.
Challenge, approach, and impact
Overcoming Variable Dining Traffic
Fluctuating table occupancy, revenue loss during off-peak hours, and limited demand-based pricing tools persist as hospitality hurdles. Traditional booking tools ignore shifts in traffic, leaving businesses unable to monetize peak demand or fill slow windows. The founders aimed to build a dynamic pricing app to drive foot traffic during slow hours and maximize revenue during busy times in the competitive New York dining market.
