Place Your Pet is a project focused on bridging the trust gap in peer-to-peer pet care. The app addresses the mutual anxiety of owners and sitters by offering detailed profiles, verified conditions, and a unique "self-presentation" video feature. Designed with a clean, high-contrast interface, it replaces long, dry descriptions with authentic human connection, making the process of finding reliable care for pets safer and more transparent.
Challenge, approach, and impact
Overcoming Double-Sided Distrust
The core obstacle is a mutual lack of trust: owners fear unverified caretakers, while sitters worry that owners might not return for their pets. This vulnerability creates high friction in the pet-sharing market. The goal was to design a simple, convenient application that validates both sides, ensuring that "exposure to experiences" for pets is managed only by reliable individuals within a secure and accountable community framework that prioritizes safety.
