The client is a scale-up in the life sciences sector developing AI tools to enhance IVF procedures by providing data-driven insights. DO OK implemented their API and built a dedicated web application that allows medical experts to analyse embryo spectrogram data and detect developmental anomalies. This platform provides specialists with a critical tool to improve the accuracy of their clinical assessments.
Challenge, approach, and impact
Complex Data Processing and Visualisation
The system needed to handle large volumes of spectrogram data representing embryo development. This required building a robust data pipeline for asynchronous ML inference and high-resolution image processing.
Secure Hybrid Architecture
Because of strict medical data regulations, the platform had to operate within a hybrid environment: a secure AWS-based cloud for computation and API services, and an on-prem network within the fertility clinic for storing sensitive genomic and imaging data.
Streamlined Access for Clinicians
The web app had to provide intuitive access to complex biological data without exposing underlying ML complexity. Medical experts needed clear, interactive visualisations of embryo data alongside algorithmic assessments.
