Performed an in-depth analysis of the client’s IoT time series data infrastructure to resolve performance bottlenecks affecting aggregation queries. Identified limitations in the existing MySQL schema and proposed an improved architecture optimized for high-frequency sensor data. Delivered recommendations on database redesign, indexing strategy, data retention policies, compression approaches, and query optimization. Evaluated alternative technologies such as ClickHouse and TimescaleDB and provided a migration strategy to ensure scalable, cost-efficient long-term performance. Enabled significantly faster analytical queries and a more reliable data pipeline for IoT workloads.
