In logistics, every carrier relies on documentation, especially paper. Numerous paper documents are prone to frequent misplacement and erroneous signatures, while strict submission requirements exist. Dataforest has innovated a web application to streamline paper-intensive processes into an entirely digitized one with just a few clicks, significantly enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
Client's Needs
MVNMT recognized the paperwork complexity every cargo company faces. The business involves three roles with different needs: Brokers needed an efficient way to generate and share Bills of Lading, Shippers required fast document updates and QR code generation, while Carriers sought simplified cargo handling and mobile data entry. All parties needed real-time collaboration, online document editing, and instant notifications for any changes.
Challenges & Solutions
Carriers previously struggled with multiple document templates, wasting time identifying required fields. Dataforest unified all standard fields into a single, structured format. Paperwork delays often occurred when trucks departed without completed documents, so the web app enabled online data entry even on the road. To finalize workflows, Dataforest integrated a DocuSign-style online signature, allowing documents to be signed anytime, anywhere.
Results
Dataforest built a web application for Shippers, Carriers, and Brokers. Brokers generate Bills of Lading at the Shipper’s request, Shippers manage goods, and Carriers handle transportation. Each organization can track cargo status in real time, receive notifications when shipments start, and quickly correct document issues through an online workflow.
