The "Odnesi" app allows users to freely remove unnecessary items from their homes, with the goal of donating them to those in need or sending them for recycling. In addition to contributing to waste reduction, the app also provides social value by engaging individuals from vulnerable social groups in recycling centers, thus creating a sustainable system of aid and responsibility in society.
Challenge, approach, and impact
User-Friendly Donation & Recycling System
We prioritized simplicity to ensure that every user, regardless of age or tech-savviness, could donate or recycle in just a few clicks. The interface eliminates friction and complexity, turning good intentions into concrete actions—quickly and effortlessly.
Optimized Pickup Logistics
Coordinating pickups at scale required a smart logistics framework. We built a scheduling system that balances user preferences, location clustering, and worker availability-educing delays, no-shows, and operational costs.
Inclusion of Vulnerable Social Groups
Beyond the digital platform, Odnesi’s impact extends to social empowerment. The system was designed to include individuals from marginalized communities in logistics and recycling operations, transforming a tech product into a tool for employment and dignity.
Seamless Onboarding Experience
Design an intuitive user interface that enables quick and seamless user registration and login to the platform. To ensure high user adoption and accessibility across all age groups, we developed a clean, intuitive interface with a frictionless sign-up and login process. This enabled users to get started in seconds-no manuals, no complexity.
Smart Pickup Scheduling & Status Tracking
Implement functionality that allows users to schedule item pickups and monitor the status of their donations in real time. Users can select preferred pickup dates and times with ease, while receiving live updates about the status of their donation. This real-time transparency builds trust and keeps users engaged throughout the process.
Integrated Social & Recycling Ecosystem
Develop a system that connects users with recycling centers and social organizations to facilitate effective redistribution of donated items. The platform bridges the gap between donors and the organizations that need support. Items are automatically routed to recycling centers or social aid programs, optimizing both environmental and humanitarian impact.
Real-Time Job Monitoring for Field Teams
Enable real-time tracking of workers’ job statuses to optimize pickup logistics and task management. Administrators can track all pickups live, assign jobs dynamically, and respond instantly to operational needs. This system ensures high service quality and efficient use of field resources.
Impact Visibility Through Analytics & Reports
Introduce analytics and reporting tools to measure and visualize the impact of donations and recycling activities. The admin panel includes dashboards and exportable reports that provide deep insight into donations, recycling rates, and community impact. This empowers decision-makers to optimize operations and showcase results.
Robust In-App Support System
Implement a robust in-app customer support system to ensure timely resolution of user inquiries and issues. To maintain user satisfaction, we embedded a helpdesk system directly into the app. Users can access FAQs, submit support requests, or get live assistance—ensuring confidence at every step.
