Time to meet today’s star, the PHP medior developer at Codeus, Zarko !

How do you spend your time outside of the office?

Outside of work I enjoy traveling, sports, and hanging out with my friends and family.

My huge passion is skiing, so I spend a lot of winter time on the mountain. So far I visited 5+ mountains and explored their ski paths. Over the summer I prefer staying at home, because I'm a winter person, but my girlfriend is totally not. So, needless to say, together we spend a lot of time visiting beaches and enjoying the Sun (at least she is the one enjoying).

How has Codeus helped you in your career development?

I started my career as an intern at Codeus. Fast forward a few years, I'm now a medior developer, and I can see myself progressing pretty quickly.

When I first started, I was working on non-demanding projects, and I had time to accommodate myself and grow at a very comfortable pace. As the level of challenge of the projects were growing, I grew as well. I started working on more and more demanding projects, and I had help from different senior mentors.

From the simplest tasks where I had a mentor, now I'm working on high-level projects where I mentor others. It's quite an accomplishment.

If you could only drink one beer for the rest of your life, what would it be?

If I could only drink one beer for the rest of my life, it would probably be the best beer in the world, Carlsberg.

If you could switch your job with anyone else within Codeus, whose job would you want?

If I could switch my job with someone else from the company, It would be a Project Manager's one.

I'm amazed at how different Project Managers’ and Developers’ perspectives are. We are facing the same challenge, yet we see it completely differently. As a developer on the project manager's position, I believe I would be able to understand engineers' needs better than anyone else.

Top three life highlights?

My top three life highlights:

1st - Relocating from my hometown and starting an independent life. When I moved to Nis, I started working for Codeus, and it is one of the most significant things that has happened to me so far.

2nd - Visiting London. I've dreamt of visiting London for as long as I can remember, so this was quite a dream come true.

3rd - Red Star becoming a member of UEFA Champions League for the first time.

If you were an animal what would you be?

If I was an animal, I would probably be a husky.

Why? It loves winter; It's always useful and helpful; It's intelligent; It's loyal.
