Time to meet the COO at Canary Technology Innovations, Catalina!

What do you find to be the most exciting aspect of Canary Technology Innovations?

I'm excited to be part of the dream and vision of growing IT job opportunities in Romania and encouraging future generations to find their potential. Being a growing company, both myself and Canary have progressed together with each project and challenge taken on, and I am happy that I have been part of this evolution.

Do you have any hobbies, go-to weekend activities, or long-term passion projects you’re working on?

It might sound like a generic answer, but traveling is my passion, and go to weekend activity. Working with Canary has opened up opportunities for traveling as well, especially on various projects, unlocking different experiences and exposures to diverse people, environments and moreover, to self-development and evolution.

What did you want to be when growing up?

That is exactly where I am right now.

I have always had aspirations of being an entrepreneur and being part of an IT startup, and that is mostly because my father is an entrepreneur himself ( in a different line of work), and I was always encouraged to follow my aspirations and ambitions. I have further objectives and ambitions, but I can state that I have achieved so far, the ones that I have aspired for myself at this age.

If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to see cast as you?

I am influenced by this answer by a recent movie I just saw in the theater, Woman King; I would choose Viola Davis to play me in a Hollywood movie about my life, as in this recent movie, she portrayed the role of a woman leader in the role where usually men rule, female captain and female king. She overcame a lot of stigma and discrimination on her way to success, and that is sometimes how you feel when being a female entrepreneur.

However, it has yet to be the case at Canary. With Canary, I feel like I am equally entitled to success as men are, and my hard work is appreciated no matter my gender. At Canary, the female-male gender ratio is quite balanced compared to other peer companies.

How do you balance your career at Canary Technology Innovations and friends & family?

The work and friends & family balance is adequate with Canary. Having a personal involvement within the company’s creation and evolution, I can state, that so far, I have managed to keep the balance scale quite in place, considering that I have a daughter at home that is almost the age of the company and who usually in this line of work, entrepreneurs tend to take their work at home and struggle with personal life.

How has Canary Technology Innovations helped you in your career development?

I am pleased to state both the company and I have been growing together since the beginning.

Since starting on this road, my skill set, drive, and credentials have improved, and I am proud to have helped the company expand in numbers and mature with each project taken on. I have achieved a lot of my career expectations and aspirations so far, and I anticipate progressing even more hand in hand with Canary.
