Time to meet the Frontend developer at Marble IT, Jelena!

Why did you join Marble IT, and what has kept you here?

Since I started my professional career in parallel with finishing my master's studies at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, I thought that I would need to work in a corporation to get the actual feel of what it's like to work in the IT industry.

As more and more time passed, I realized that a small, but proficient and ambitious team is where I want to be. That's when I got an interview at Marble IT, and right after that, I knew that I found exactly what I was looking for. There are many reasons why I choose to stay at this company, but I would like to emphasize a few - transparency, teamwork, respect, and growth.

How do you spend your time outside of the office?

I am a person who is in love with movement. From playing volleyball for about 15 years to experimenting with other sports and activities, such as kickboxing, bike riding, and pilates, I love and enjoy it all!

I thrive off of trying out different sports and learning new skills! Especially because I believe that they contribute to good physical and mental health and help us gain the clarity needed for problem-solving. Currently, I enjoy kickboxing, while on other hand, I enjoy learning new languages, reading, and drawing

What are your primary responsibilities and what does your day-to-day look like?

Day-to-day responsibilities usually include problem-solving and feature implementation on the project I am currently working on. Nevertheless, what I find most rewarding is helping others with resolving technical or non-technical issues. Knowing that colleagues can lean on you for help and support and vice versa is one of the most important reasons why I work at Marble IT.

How do you balance your career at Marble IT and friends & family?

Maintaining a healthy work/life balance is one of the biggest modern-day challenges. To me, it looked like a challenge when it shouldn't be.

As time passed, I have defined my core beliefs and values and that is what ultimately helped me to create a balance between friends and family on one hand, and work on the other.

At Marble IT, I have found a community that values the same core beliefs as I do - respect, teamwork, and transparency, and the same is true for the other important people in my life.

How has Marble IT helped you in your career development?

As I wanted to dive deeper into frontend development, Marble IT has opened the door for me in terms of knowledge, support, projects, and overall experience.

From learning new frameworks and languages, and building mobile/web applications to integrating third-party libraries, and animations, I have had all the support needed in terms of consulting colleagues, tutorials, courses, etc.

What have you gained from working at Marble IT?

The biggest takeaway from working in Marble IT would be that teamwork, good communication, and organization are key to a healthy work environment.

Marble IT has helped me on both a professional and personal level. Helping improve my technical and non-technical skills according to my preferences and traits has been beneficial for both the company and myself.
