Time to meet the Senior Frontend Developer at Grapefruit, Mircea!

Why did you join Grapefruit, and what has kept you here?

I joined the Grapefruit team because all other jobs that I used to have were small teams and the roles were very split and caused major overlaps within people roles. Here I discovered that our roles are well defined and we manage to collaborate really well for the benefit of the projects.

How do you spend your time outside of the office?

Well, even outside of the office I spend time working on other projects, but mostly I try to spend time with my family and friends and occasionally spend a full day working on my car.

Are you an iPhone or android type of person?

iPhone, watch, AirPods, MacBook. I really love the way the whole ecosystem works and integrates with each device you can get from them. Although we all know they are overpriced, they sell the experience you get from their products.

What drew you to development? Have you always worked in Front-end roles?

Actually, I was a designer at first, specialising in branding and web applications, but as I always wanted to know more stuff, I started to take the path to Frontend, along the way I learned to work with WordPress and many different CMS platforms.

How do you describe your work personality vs. your home life personality?

I don't believe there are so many differences between my work personality and my home one. I mostly run things by some simple common sense principles and I want/expect transparency and communication.

What is the best vacation you’ve been to?

That time when I visited Rome, even though it was my first time in Rome, instead of visiting the most popular places, we started to walk across all streets we desired. We discovered wonderful places and landscapes.
