Let’s get to know her better!
What are your responsibilities as a project manager at Miquido?
Well, honestly the first thing that comes to mind is...everything. I’m the type of person that engages in all tasks possible, you could almost call it a small weakness of mine.
The list of my responsibilities is quite long. I’m of course in charge of tasks related to the projects themselves. I take care of the requirements, coordinating with the team, verifying the budget, and advising on it.
I also inform the client about the progress of our work and organise meetings with the team. We put much focus on professional growth, and so PMs are also involved in educating the team, giving them feedback, and overall taking care of the people at Miquido that we work with.
Aside from management, I also engage in the sales process. If there’s a client that wants to develop a project with us, then I help to list out all the functionalities of the product, and afterward, I pass it out to the team that estimates it accordingly.
I’m also a part of our growth hacking group, where we work on optimising the processes inside of the company. It’s a lot!
What do you find the most exciting aspect of your work?
I think the most exciting part is the moment when a new project starts. There’s always a bit of uncertainty since we’re just getting to know the client and we’re really motivated to build a solid relationship with them.
It’s the beginning of a new, unknown challenge that everyone on the team is always enthusiastic about, and that positive attitude is very nice to observe.
What is the biggest challenge when it comes to working at Miquido?
Meeting everyone’s requirements, i.e ensuring that both the client and our team are on the same page. We always strive to create the best quality product for our client, while also ensuring that the people on the team find the work rewarding and motivating.
For me personally, the most important thing is that the members of the team are happy to be working on a project, and our collaboration goes smoothly. It makes the results all the more satisfying.
Patrycja, always ready for new challenges
What do you like to do on the weekends?
As basic as it sounds, I really enjoy reading books. My New Year’s resolution was to finally read some classic literature, books that I always heard so much about, but never really got around to reading them. I’m currently in the middle of Wuthering Heights, after having finished Jane Eyre, which I really enjoyed.
Right now, I also take the time to read books about business and personal development. I may not have as much time as I’d want to read, but my personal library is growing and my future plans for it are ambitious.
How would you define being successful in life?
I don’t know if I could really define it per se, but I overall think that success is built from small, everyday victories.
To give you an understanding of what I’m talking about, I like that feeling at the end of a day when I’ve completed everything I planned or I managed to solve a problem that’s been bugging me for some time. I can then go to sleep peacefully knowing that everything went well.
I honestly think that moments like that are what drives me forward, and what pushes me to greater accomplishments. After all, it’s a very nice feeling to look back at who you were three years ago and how much you’ve improved since then.
What did you want to be when growing up?
Honestly? I didn’t really have an idea of who I wanted to be. When I think about it, I didn’t have a plan for most of my life, my plans took shape way after childhood.
I studied computer science, but I made that decision only after I graduated from high school, so I didn’t really map that out either. You could say that for a really long time, I wasn’t really sure what I’d be doing career-wise, and I didn’t really search for an answer. Life just kind of got me there anyway, and I’m happy about it.
What are the three words that best describe you?
That’s a tough one! I’d have to go with: honest, open, and understanding.
