Time to meet the HR Generalist at Expert Network, Sabina!

What do you find to be the most exciting aspect of Expert Network?

The fact is that it is constantly changing and adapting. "Because we've always done it this way" is not considered an appropriate response. There is always room for improvement, in everything, and I like that Expert Network, as a company, is set on improving things and curious about finding and addressing its flaws.

What do you like most about the Expert Network?

The people. The people here are warm, smart, open-minded, and real. I've always felt welcomed here. I've also found very interesting perspectives that made me reassess my assumptions. I've been impressed by how analytical and curious my colleagues are. And I like that we are all different, with unique traits, passions, and peculiar hobbies.

How do you define success in life?

I define success as balance. To me, success means a balanced and fulfilling life. A life in which you can have just a bit of everything. Being a passionate professional and working on great projects without feeling overworked or burned out. Having time to spend with loved ones as well as having individual interests. Traveling while still having a home to return to. Cooking from time to time without being a chef. I think it's things like that which make a life well lived.

In your opinion, what are the hallmark traits of a great HR Generalist?

A great HR Generalist should be people-oriented, have patience and empathy, be impartial, and be a great listener. (S)he should also be accepting of different views than one's own and curious to get to know people well and truly understand their perspective. It may sound simple, but it is pretty hard to do.

Do you have any hobbies, go-to weekend activities, or long-term passion projects you’re working on?

I love traveling because it allows me to observe different cultures, eat delicious food, enjoy beautiful landscapes or architecture, and learn about the world. It also helps me grow and widen my own worldview. It has also made me more tolerant and less judgemental. And it made me question things I used to take for granted.

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Pizza! Because pizza is so versatile you can never get bored of it. In the mood for something simple and light? Pizza Margherita! Hungry? Get some Pepperoni Pizza. In the mood for something weird? Pizza Hawaii. Something without meat? Vegetable Pizza. The choices are endless... And they all come with cheese!
