Time to meet the CTO at PEAK Software Solutions, Ivan!

How did you first learn about PEAK Software?

The first time I learned about a company was through a friend that mentioned Peak to me and recommended it because he heard good things about it and was a good friend with the founder and managing director Uros Milicev.

Shortly after I had a very pleasant and interesting conversation about the company and an exciting project that was in the works at the time. After a month I started working with the Peak team as a Senior Software Developer.

Before working at PEAK Software, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

I've spent a lot of summers during high school and my studies working in tourism. The jobs were mostly in the kitchen, working as a cook assistant, sometimes actually preparing meals or in front as service. Those were dynamic and compelling jobs, but the most interesting job was when I worked as an "animator"

My job was to organize fun activities for guests like shooting bow and arrow, sand volleyball tournaments, exercises next to the pool, etc. In the evening I would get on a stage and perform in a play or host an event on a stage.

If given a chance, who would you like to be for a day?

If I could choose to be one person for a day it would probably be one of the astronauts deployed to the International Space Station. There is something captivating about the idea of being outside of a planet and simply being in space.

What is the favourite part about working for PEAK Software?

Before working with Peak I worked as a freelancer from home and this experience taught me to appreciate working with my own team and also working from the office.

Even though we don't have strict rules here, on coming to the office, I still come to the office almost every day because my team makes the time spent in the office extremely enjoyable.

What’s your next step, or a few goals you’d like to accomplish in life, or while with PEAK Software?

One of the bigger things I'm doing right now is preparing for my Private Pilot Licence training. I'm still going through the theory and I'm eager to start flying.

I have some friends that are also pilots so in theory in a couple of years we could team up and buy a plane together.

What has been your favourite project at PEAK Software?

My favourite project was the project for the digital transformation of ICP. They are in the field of electronic payments and related transaction services and are one of the biggest players in Europe. They decided to open up their services to web/mobile online purchases and when given an opportunity to lead the team in charge of this process I jumped on it.

Challenges range from technical to people managing, to product-based. Technical challenges include different integrations of product providers, integrations with payment service providers, fraud detection services etc.

The product keeps evolving and expanding which makes this a very dynamic and interesting project.
