Time to meet the Agile Delivery Lead at Hicron, Paulina!

What did you want to be when growing up?

I am an experienced IT delivery leader, but believe it or not, I have wanted to be a lawyer for most of my time. So when the time came to seal my fate and choose my professional path, on the one hand, I honestly enjoyed science, but on the other, the law was still in my heart. In the end, I decided that IT was the world I wanted to work in, and that was just the beginning of the highway that got me to where I am today.

Do you have an office nickname? What is it?

As it happens I do – it’s Spring :)

Don't really know if it came from the curls I had at some point, or maybe from the energy that I have, but it never went away.

Why did you join Hicron, and what has kept you here?

I joined Hicron almost 4 years ago. Before that, I worked in numerous companies, from corporations to startups. Hicron Software House team, by some means, combined the blessings of both. With 40 people back then, preserved a friendly, non-formal environment of a startup, with the resilience of a larger enterprise (Hicron in total is ca. 300+ ppl). 

What appealed to me most was the personality of the people working here and little marketing blah, blah, blah, only the honesty about work and project opportunities someone like me could have with Hicron. Everybody here is open to sharing their views, and there is room to grow, even for a senior level individual like me. The environment and support I receive every day make me want to come back and deal with whatever comes my way.

Do you have any hobbies, go-to weekend activities, or long-term passion projects you’re working on?

When the weather is nice, usually around summertime, I love to ride a motorcycle. It brings me joy and always helps to clear my head. Apart from that, I have 2 giant dogs, so long walks are one of my favourite activities. And no, I am not a dog person, not exclusively at least. My 5 cats are ever joining me on the couch when I read a book or have a cup of coffee – things that you enjoy after work.

Top three life highlights?

1. The most lovely things that happened to me had a lot to do with random, spontaneous activities. One fundamental thing I have learned is that schedules run our lives, especially as we get older. To maintain my ying-yang harmony, doing something unplanned now and then is paramount in my life.

2. Once I spent a lot of time learning how to play Moonlight Sonata on the piano. All that was to prove to myself that I could do anything if I wanted to! Accomplish something you set your mind on - my philosophy. <3

3. I am a sweet tooth, and there's zero doubt about that. I love to eat, so every time I have a chance to try something unique and delicious is an essential highlight of my life, haha!

What's your favorite quote, or motto?

It was really hard to choose only one, so I decided to share two.

First one being my daily driver "You didn’t come this far to only come this far"
