We will turn the spotlight on our Technical Leader and Software engineer Pablo Restuccia who has been working at Capicua for four years now. Not only is he a technology expert, but he has a strong sense of technical empathy, which allows him to appreciate the challenges his team is facing.

What is your most memorable moment at Capicua?

Maybe some of the trips abroad, beyond work, I enjoyed the trip to Chicago. It was my first time in that city, and I can't wait to revisit it.

Why did you join Capicua, and what has kept you here?

They were looking for a Java developer. What kept me there was the flexibility and comfort of working there and the constant learning of new and modern technologies. Also, over the years, I have met incredible people.

What are some of the unique challenges you face in your role, and how do you overcome them?

We did a relatively large project with a coworker without knowing anything about the technology (with the client’s endorsement, of course). It was a success, and the client was pleased, so much that we still work with them to this day. How did we deal with it? With a lot of studies, practice, fellowship, and above all, a lot of hard work. You always have to seek to improve and constantly learn so as not to be left behind.

How do you spend your time outside the office?

Doing sports, playing some music, playing console games, programming fun personal projects, and having good times with my friends and family. I just got a puppy named him Otto, and I’m crazy about him. He already destroyed several wires and parts of my house, but he's so adorable he always gets away with it, and I forgive him.

What is the first concert you attended?

My first concert was by a local band called La Vela Puerca… It was beautiful, emotional, and full of energy. It was very memorable for me. I don’t know why, but I always used the same shirt to go to that band's concerts from then on.

What are your top three life highlights?

Any trip I've done, any other trip I've done, and any other trip I've done other than the previous two. In that order.

What are three words to describe Capicua?

I will put three comment words: work comfort, good people, modern technologies.

What advice do you have for prospective Capicua candidates?

Value the comfort of working here and try to learn all you can... Also, If you want to learn some new technology, ask for it; here, they are always ready to support everyone with tutorials, materials, etc. And if you show initiative, the greater the challenges Capicua will give you to keep growing.

What’s your next step or a few goals you’d like to accomplish in life?

Professionally: Be a better Leader; Personally: Be a happy person and do my best so that everyone around me is too.

How do you define success in life?

I measure it based on how many interesting stories (funny, intriguing, knowledge, etc.) you have to tell about your life. I still have a few more to get.

What did you want to be when growing up?

Many things: vet, sailor, astronaut, but mostly computer-related engineer, although I had no idea what that meant... I just knew that I wanted to be an engineer (just like my father), and I knew that I loved computers.

Describe what you were like at age 10.

I was a very annoying child, from what they tell me XD. I was always driving my mom crazy.

If given a chance, who would you like to be for a day?

An astronaut on the ISS. Float and experiment with a unique view of the planet in conjunction with the vastness of space. Put everything we take for granted in perspective.

If you were an animal, what would you be?

If I am guaranteed that nothing can harm me, I would like to be a small one, like an ant, and to be able to see the world from a different perspective. I would also like to be a bird and experience the sensation of flying, but the truth is, I have vertigo, I don’t know how much I would enjoy it.
