Time to meet the Head of Design at Angry Nerds, Marcin!

Why did you join Angry Nerds, and what has kept you here?

I joined Angry Nerds 3 years ago. Previously, I worked in an IT company in the same position, but I felt that I had to develop and broaden my knowledge. At first, I was afraid it would be tough in a bigger company. Soon, thanks to the people and the atmosphere, I realized that I found my place in the Angry Nerds team. Today I run a UX / UI dream team that will handle any (even the most demanding) challenge! :)

Conquering Greek peaks

How did you first learn about Angry Nerds?

I first heard about Angry Nerds from a friend who worked there. It so happened that the company was looking for a designer for the UX / UI team, and I decided to try my luck. I started with short research about the company and it quickly led me to sending a job application! To this day I’ve never regretted my decision, because never before had I worked with so many smart, skilled people that enjoy their jobs. Angry Nerds enables me to grow both as a person and as an expert.

What has been your favorite project at Angry Nerds?

There were several of them, but if I had to choose one, my favorite project was an application for handling people transportation in the United Arab Emirates. Why that one? The answer is simple - it was a very demanding project that brought with it a lot of new experiences. I had to overcome many restrictions imposed by the demanding laws of the country. Thanks to this project, we saw exactly where we needed to improve the organization of our work, which was greatly beneficial for the entire team. To this day, we all remember this project with smiles on our faces.

If you could only drink one beer for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Hmm... If I had to choose, it would be Grimbergen Blonde, which I think I like the most. If you haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend it!

Another trip to a sunny place

What is the best vacation you’ve been to?

Malta, without a doubt! Unfortunately, I had the opportunity to only go there once so far, but it was enough to delight me with this place. There, I met many wonderful people who introduced me to the history of Malta. I tried many local dishes and, most importantly, I visited many wonderful places. I will go back there as soon as I can, for sure!

How do you define success in life?

Success in life, in my opinion, is reaching the point where you are satisfied with what you are currently doing. If you’re feeling fulfilled in your private and professional life, this is the key to success.
