Time to meet the Junior front-end developer at Canary Technology Innovations, Alexandru!

How do you spend your time outside of the office?

I like playing football, going for runs, hiking, long walks and travelling abroad.

When I'm at home I usually enjoy reading and watching content related to tech, space and science. I also like playing video games and I'm a big Formula 1 fan!

I do enjoy coding for fun whenever I feel I want to practice or learn new stuff!

Before working at Canary Technology Innovations, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

I would say the most unusual job I had was working as a mascot, even though it was only for a few days and was a long time ago.

The most interesting job, on the other hand, was working as a sales representative for one of the biggest Pharma companies in my country.

It helped me develop both personally and professionally due to the numerous uncomfortable situations I had to face daily, but also thanks to the trainings I received while working there.

Why did you join Canary Technology Innovations, and what has kept you here?

I decided to join Canary Tech firstly because of how great the people I interviewed with felt. I got the sense that it would be a good match and I ended up making one of the best decisions I ever took in my career so far.

This is also what is keeping me working here, as my colleagues are positive, easy to work with and very supportive when it comes to helping others. I also enjoy working here because of the fact that we are using the newest and best regarded technologies in terms of web development.

What are your primary responsibilities and what does your day-to-day look like?

My activity most of the time is centered around building web pages, UI components, and making sure the front-end side of the projects we develop are well integrated with the back-end.

I also take time to review code, plan and manage tasks and take part in internal meetings or meetings with our clients.

Are you an iPhone or android type of person?

I've been an iPhone user since the beginning,, starting with the second generation iPhone (I still have some of the older devices lying around). I have four Apple devices I use on a daily basis.

The seamless integration between all of them just does it for me, paired with the fact that the software is very well polished with very few bugs and the hardware is always top notch quality.

I've also convinced a few people around me to switch from Android to iPhone in the past few years :)

If you could meet anyone in the world dead or alive who would it be and why?

It may sound cliché, but I would like to meet Elon Musk. I am a big fan of what he has achieved so far, mostly because of what SpaceX represents today.

I admire him as a businessman but I also like the fact that his companies are pushing the boundaries of science and technology. I'd like to ask him when we will actually see people landing on Mars !
