Time to meet the Technical Lead at Marble IT, Aleksandar!

Why did you join Marble IT, and what has kept you here?

When I joined MarbleIT, it was a small company with only five employees. It was suggested to me by a friend working there and from whom I heard so many awesome stories about the company. The main reason that kept me in this company is the friendly atmosphere that is always present and the many opportunities for personal growth. From a software engineer, I became a mentor and later a Technical Lead. Even when I showed interest in managing, I was assigned as Project Manager to one of the projects.

What is the favourite part about working for Marble IT?

My favorite part about working for MarbleIT is that there is no pressure or micromanaging. The company trusts us that we will deliver a good code on time. The company cares about employees' wishes. If we want to work on a specific role or with new technology, they will give their best to find the project that fits our needs.

Do you have any hobbies, go-to weekend activities, or long-term passion projects you’re working on?

On weekends I always go somewhere in nature, and over the summer days, we often go camping. Serbia has many beautiful mountains which my friends and I like to explore. I occasionally play with the fire staff, where you soak the ends in kerosene and light them up. You manipulate the staff, and it is a type of performance.

What is the next life milestone you want to achieve?

The next milestone I would like to achieve is to go to Zanzibar for two months next summer with my girlfriend to work remotely from there. We are both working in the IT industry and can work remotely. This summer, we were in Zanzibar for ten days, and we absolutely loved it, the people, and the culture. We made quite some friends over there, and would like to get the culture even more, and even visit some parts of Tanzania, like Kilimanjaro.

What is the best vacation you’ve been to?

In 2018 I was in Florida for three weeks. My aunt lives in Orlando in a lovely house next to a lake. While there, I visited Miami, Key West, Saint Augustine, Tampa, and Palm Coast. But the most exciting place I visited was Disneyland. I have been to all three parks and went on multiple rides, including Safari.

How did you first learn about Marble IT?

I have heard about MarbleIT from a good friend. At that time, the company was small, and it was a group of friends. I remember him telling me about their team building in Amsterdam and many other fun things. Back then, the atmosphere was crazy, similar to the show The Office. The day couldn't pass without some pranks.
