Time to meet the UX/UI designer at Kamino, Sindy!

Why did you join Kamino, and what has kept you here?

Back then, I didn't know much about the company and the team was small.

After the first interview, I knew that Kamino was the place where I wanted to be. If you want to do great work, you must be surrounded by great people, and Kamino has that.

Every and each one of them is willing to help when it comes to work, problems, and personal life. Besides people, the second thing most important to me is remote work, which amazes me how that runs smoothly and without issues on Kamino.

And yeah, I must not forget - always full fridge with good food.

What are your primary responsibilities and what does your day-to-day look like?

I design mobile apps. Besides actual design, I also do wireframes, prototypes, testing, and talking with clients and my team. To be successful at that, my day starts with coffee. If I'm going to the office I spent about an hour on the road. After that, magic happens in Figma.

Most of my day I spent designing and doing research. After that, adjusting and confirming designs with my team and client.

How do you spend your time outside of the office?

Most of my free time goes to renovating a house, adjusting my car and taking care of my little zoo at home.

I love animals!

How do you balance your career at Kamino and friends & family?

Thanks to Kamino, I can freely turn off my PC after 16:30 and don't feel bad about it.

Also, I don't have to turn it on during the weekends (if I really don't want to).

With that luxury, and I say that because most of my friends don't have 'working hours' anymore, I have time to visit my family (it is a 6h drive one way) more often, or just go for a long walk by the sea.

Me, myself and I

What did you want to be when growing up?

Before primary school, I wanted to be a car mechanic because I spent a lot of time with my dad 'helping' him fix his car. In primary school I wanted to be a vet, I grew up in a small village surrounded cows and horses, and we had 8 dogs at that time.

After primary school, I decided that I wanted to be a painter, and there was no art high schools near me so yeah, ended up in web design school, and here I am.

Describe what you were like at age 10.

When I was 10 I got my first cell phone. It was Nokia 3310.

It was amazing how you could create your own ringtone. Besides that, most of my time I spent playing handball for my local team.

And yeah, almost burned the house for the new year. It was an event my parents will never forget.
