Time to meet the Lead business analyst at Sprintform, Gabor!
Why did you join Sprintform, and what has kept you here?
I had a chance to learn and gain experience in a multinational company. This company was a brick-and-mortar bank that wanted to gain space amongst banks providing digital solutions. So it was a great time to be there.
This company had 4 000 colleagues, 1 million customers, and old core systems developed with waterfall methodologies. I saw how this bank tried to transform itself to tackle the constantly growing digital needs of its current and future clientele.
Honestly, the organization struggled mostly because of its over-bureaucratized system. Often they had to outsource complex changes into their partners' hands to partners who are more agile in many aspects. I realized that I am constantly out of my comfort zone because the organization was slow.
Sprintform came into my life at that point with the promising future that together we would build a successful agile development agency that would be a partner in complex changes of organizations like my previous employer. In the last three years, I saw how Sprintform has grown and helped many companies. And there is a lot more to come.
What are your primary responsibilities, and what does your day-to-day look like?
As a lead business analyst, I’m recruiting potential business analysts. I’m also involved in the discovery phase of potential projects to measure which type of business analyst tasks can appear in the project and which of our colleagues will be the right one for these tasks.
I’m also responsible for onboarding new business analyst colleagues, helping business analysts on projects from a professional point of view, and also pulling the business analysts together in a professional group.
How has Sprintform helped you in your career development?
We are working on many different projects, and we always pay attention to sharing the gained knowledge. It can be a new tool in project management, programming, and stakeholder management. Or it can be a different process for the same problem or a new industry.
As a business analyst, I always focus on parts of how the stakeholders align and how I can keep them on the same page. What tools, processes, and soft skill techniques help and what doesn’t.
What is on your wish list for the next 5years with Sprintform?
I expect to be a partner in complex changes for many companies in various industries. I would like to help my business analyst colleagues to reach the same goals and develop. And last but not least, I would like to help all my Sprintform colleagues to grow together to help more and more companies that require a partner who can make their dreams come true
How do you define success in life?
In my opinion, to be successful first, you have to have goals. Those goals should be realistic, and you should work on them. Everybody loves to reach goals and loves the feel when (s)he reaches them. Therefore the goals should be small enough but meaningful. So keep dreaming, set realistic goals, and work on them. The success will be there.
What's your favorite quote or motto?
“I’m not interested in preserving the status quo; I want to overthrow it.”
During my whole life, I have always looked at things from a different perspective to be able to solve problems with different, better, easier solutions.
We are people, and people get used to things. And it can be that in a certain period, it worked well, and that process which took four months it was great.
But we have to ask sometimes the question, why and how can solve it differently? In the end, it can be that we can shorten the process to 1 month.
