Right now, he’s working up the courage to vacation and camp in the wild. Read what he’s doing in the meantime.

Here he is, bravely sharing knowledge with other team members.

How long have you been a part of our team? How did you end up in Ars Futura?

I’ve been here for a little over two years now. My second anniversary was in February so you can do the maths.

And I came here because I was invited! I kind of lucked out because the selection was a bit easier then.

Ars Futura was looking for a QA Engineer and one of our CEOs sent me a message on LinkedIn... He said “Hey, we’re looking for someone to do this. Do you want to come and work for us?” I agreed, they sent me a task, I sent it back, and boom!

It was a bit weird when I first got here because everyone is close, like a closed circle. But soon enough, I was inside the circle and it’s been great.

What do you like best about your job here?

I love the fact that I work on so many different things. My official title is a QA Engineer, but I do a lot of DevOps. So, I get to learn and grow in my work a lot.

I started with QA but somewhere along the way, we all figured out that I’m good at DevOps and I like doing it. I’m not sure I would get to do something just because I like it anywhere else.

What is your favourite memory from Ars Futura?

Well, I like every day here. One that’s stuck in my mind is from last year, just before the pandemic.

We were supposed to go to a winter team building event as a company but it got cancelled because we couldn’t find a good offer. So, they told us we were going to go to Mallorca instead.

It all fell apart, of course, because of Covid. But that day, everybody in the office was so happy, you could feel an excited buzz, kind of. Everyone was so happy.

Boris at a team building day we did manage to go to, on one of the highest tops of Croatia.

Where could we find you in your free time?

You could find me riding my bike or somewhere in the mountains hiking. Sometimes playing volleyball, especially in the summer because then I play every day near the lake, on a sandy field. After that, I drink a beer.

Other than that, I cook, read, and listen to my girlfriend.

And where would we find you while you’re on vacation?

We love to go camping so somewhere in a tent near the sea. But not somewhere in the wild! Every year we say that we’re going to go to a place that is not a campsite, somewhere in nature, and set up a tent. Every year we get too scared, change our mind, and decide to go to a campsite.

What is a goal you want to accomplish?

Hmm… I always have small goals, like I want to climb that mountain or I want to do this other thing. But I’m not chasing anything big at the moment. I used to have goals for my running because I used to run a lot.

I guess my goal is to get back to marathons and races once everything is done!

As Boris said, you can usually find him in the mountains.

If you had to choose a movie to watch for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Kon-Tiki. It’s based on a true story about a group of men who tried traveling from Peru to the Polynesian islands on a raft. Wild. I even read the book about it!

What’s the bravest thing you ever did?

I have no idea! What did other people say when you asked them this question?

I guess leaving my old job. It was a leap of faith.
