Time to meet the Lead UI/UX designer at AtlasApps, Bohdan!

Why did you join AtlasApps, and what has kept you here?

I joined the AtlasApps team after we collaborated on a joint project. I liked their approach and the fact that the projects were worked out quite deeply.

Working for different companies or as a freelancer working on various projects I enjoyed but it didn't give me as much experience as working on big and complex projects.

I like to work closely with product managers and receive feedback from a client, as it is important for me to clearly understand where we are moving and what problems we need to solve for the client.

I am glad that independence and curiosity are valued here, there are no restrictions on the choice of tools, and I can safely propose and discuss options that I see appropriate for solving certain problems.

Part of my hobby: My first car project

Are you an iPhone or android type of person?

Less is more, so I'm for sure an iPhone type of person.

I started using an iPhone simultaneously as I bought my first iMac. I like their idea to use one space and use system-wide integration to make our life better.

Most time, I enjoy using the continuity feature when I work with my MacBook.

By the way, I was surprised at how Apple solves the problems and pains of its customers; MacBook's touchpad it's the best solution that can provide the best behavior when you work with the design.

For sure, Apple is a really slow company when we talk about common features like widgets, keyboards, and other features updates and integrations. But their approach is more about reliability, so I like that.

Apple provides updates for all devices for a long period, and old devices for a long time can work with maximum efficiency; and I think it talks a lot about their approach.

Easy to sync all data, manage data and gallery, and take all life in one place, in one ecosystem; I'm for sure an iPhone type of person.

Do you have any hobbies, go-to weekend activities, or long-term passion projects you’re working on?

Of course, like many guys, I love cars. I have a dream to build a very beautiful project based on a convertible that I have been dreaming about for a long time and which is already in the garage.

My interest in cars since childhood introduced me to Hotwheels and scale models. I collected rare cars little by little. I've collected several scaled models and didn't know what to do with them. Decided that I wanted to turn them into custom projects that would be replicas of real sports cars, copies of cars from computer games, or just embody my ideas in these scale models.

I bought a 3D printer, stocked up on various radio parts, and started doing various cool projects, even made an RC Drift Car In 1:64 scale and Low Rider Impala with working suspension.

I filmed and did videos for TikTok, and I was thrilled to be able to reach 440k followers on TikTok in less than one year. Great bonus.

Hope soon I will start my real project on a 1:1 scale.

What is the next life milestone you want to achieve?

My next life milestone is more about my body and brain.

I want to learn more to make some level up regarding product management; I like to get more from related work areas and understand more about different processes.

Additionally to this, I want to work more with my body and sports skills. Not so long ago, I got acquainted with kitesurfing, and now for me, this is a new dream that even overlaps material dreams. I see that it's time to get more emotions from spending time than from the things that surround us.

Will be glad to surprise me, relocate and spend every weekend taking up this new hobby.

Greece atmosphere

What is the best vacation you’ve been to?

It was our honeymoon in Greece. we had a really good time. We visited various islands in a rented car and saw the bluest water in the world.

Greece was closed for tourism at that time and as soon as it opened its borders we decided to go there even though it was off-season.

Walks and visits to places of interest were cool, but as for the water, it was terribly cold, but we still decided that we would swim. We were looked at very strangely by people who were already few on the beach.

I think that this is one of the best vacations as we spent time spending it on everything we like, made new friends and mastered windsurfing.

What has been your favorite project at AtlasApps?

Now I working on a VMS project. I am proud of some solutions we implementing there. We building a lot of features that were never existed on regular video management systems.

Every day we discuss solutions and make calls with different people who have a lot of experience in this area to get the best user experience.

It's very challenging but also very interesting.
