Time to meet the Software engineer at Nignite, Sara!

How do you spend your time outside of the office?

I like reading books and interesting articles, which can be work related or about my hobbies. I enjoy finding interesting recipes from all around the world, trying them out and also learning about nutrition. I would like to travel the world one day and get to know different cultures.

In my free time I discover interesting places to visit and learn new languages.

If you were to write a self-help book, what would the topic be?

Definitely about believing in yourself and having courage to do what makes you happy. Most people don't succeed because they were too scared of failure to even try in the first place.

My favorite Latin saying is "Omnium rerum principia parva sunt", which means "Everything has a small beginning". The people we admire and look up to were once at the very beginning and dreams don't come true over night. There is no guarantee of a perfect moment, all we have is now and we should aim to be at least a little bit better every day.

What do you like most about Nignite?

If you have a good team that helps you and supports you, there is no problem too big or scary. I believe that working in a friendly environment is crucial for success.

I know that I can always count on my colleagues to help me or consult with me. Being able to rely on others and discuss problems with them helps us all improve as team players and programmers.

How has Nignite helped you in your career development?

I am so happy that I started my career in Nignite. I have gained so much confidence in myself as a programmer. I feel comfortable communicating with other developers and customers.

I have also learned and practiced a lot of different skills and worked on developing new functionalities as well as fixing bugs or improving existing software.

What are your primary responsibilities and what does your day-to-day look like?

My primary responsibilities are solving problems and sometimes developing new functionalities. My days are dynamic and priorities change with every new task I receive. I communicate a lot with customers to find out more about the issues, or collect their requirements and better understand their software needs.

How do you define success in life?

I believe that there is more than just one definition of success in life. If I look at success in general, I would consider a person who is happy with their life successful.

On the other hand, if we talk about career success, I think that it is about doing a job that you love and being able to make a living.
