QueensLab is one of Sweden's fastest growing companies in an industry where you can expect the work to be well-engineered with a touch of brilliant design, combining and creating pure excellence—just as it should be. With transparency and long-term thinking, you as a client can expect innovation with ease.
It's time to meet one of our developers, Filip Walldén!
Why did you join QueensLab, and what has kept you here?
When I decided to start looking for a new job and tagged myself as "Open for work" on Linkedin, my inbox was flooded with messages from recruiters and it was difficult to filter out the ones I thought were a good match for me.
So instead, I decided to look for a company myself. I did this by simply looking for "software developer göteborg" on Google. That's how I found QueensLab! What made me apply was the look and feel of their website. They didn't take themselves too seriously but you could tell that they still had a lot of ambition.
I had the same feeling when I interviewed and talked to the people working there.
What kept me here is the flat structure of the organisation. A lot of companies claim that, but here it really is the case. The "higher-ups" don't behave like your boss, but more like true colleagues and peers.
What has been your favorite project at QueensLab?
My favourite project was my first project where we developed a website for a client. The special thing about it was that the focus was on the design, which was a challenge for me as a developer that I hadn't faced before.
It wasn't just your average website that I've done many times before, I really had to find a new way to bring the design to life.

Do you have any hobbies, go-to weekend activities, or long-term passion projects you’re working on?
Currently, my main project is myself and my body.
I was very into sports growing up and played a lot of basketball. But after I injured myself a few years ago I have been rehabilitated to try to make a comeback.
So there is a lot of running, swimming, and weightlifting... and hopefully, within a year I can achieve all my goals!
What is the next life milestone you want to achieve?
I want to leave Sweden and work abroad. I'm not sure which country I want to live in yet, but luckily QueensLab has a plan to open offices everywhere, so I'm sure this milestone won't be difficult to achieve in the future.

If you were an animal what would you be?
An eagle. Just flying around high up in the sky, going anywhere.
Absolute freedom.
What's your motto or personal mantra?
It is what it is! It means that whatever happens, happens, and we can't change the past, so it's better to not let negative things affect you too much and try to look into the future instead.
