The soul of Pangea.ai’s brand is making human connections. Our tech partners continue to build and strengthen our community’s DNA. We are very proud to have Amplitudo as part of our circle, whose unique individuals now inspire and empower all of our team members.

Time to meet the Design manager at Amplitudo, Dražen!

Dražen as a designer then and now.

At the beginning of my career, I was unreasonably confident in myself and my work. With the acquired knowledge from the faculty and minimal practical experience, I was seriously affected by client feedback. If you tell the painter to paint the room blue, and he paints it orange, and then adds some abstract motifs, you will ask him to repaint it at his own expense. :D

What has remained the same since the beginning is the hunger for new challenges and proving myself. I never said, "Well done, man, you've ruined it; it can't be better!". I enjoy working, but I am unsatisfied when I finish the project. I understand that it pushes me forward.

Project presentation

A leader and a team player.

Just as I know how to say to our CEO, "It's good when I come to work smiling", that's how I want my team to feel. I often say that we have the best job in the world. And quite often, I repent because everyone is playing with design and everyone "knows" what and how to do it. It is important to me that we all feel like friends and that designer feedback on the designer's work is exclusively treated as the best possible advice.

The design team is composed of phenomenal and talented people. I am confident in their human and design qualities.

Skills and qualities of a good designer.

A good designer is a researcher; he looks at other people's work, builds his style, is interested in different spheres of design, likes to solve problems, and, most importantly, is a communicative person ready to state his position and firmly defend.

And, of course, creativity is vital when working as a designer on any project.

Deadlines and restrictions VS creativity and inspiration.

Except for smart fridges and smartwatches, I think I've done all types of mobile and web applications. This allows me to never be at the very beginning. I spend most of my time thinking about the project, and since I'm a visual type of person, I create an image of the project in my head, and then I indulge in digital tools. Deadlines are sometimes the most significant enemies, but they draw something out of a designer that he doesn't even know he has.

Inspiration cannot be ordered, so you must have an extensive database of design solutions in your head. I'm back to observing again. There are many design solutions on the Internet that can awaken creativity the moment it kicks in.

Finding inspiration

Dražen’s creative process.

Well, I generally rely on experience. First of all, it is necessary to "read" the client and his wishes well and to extract from him what he is thinking about. I think it is very important to use pen and paper at an early stage, sometimes, the free hand is better than all the digital tools we use. The opinion of colleagues from the non-design world is very important; sometimes, they are closer to the target group than we are. I listen, absorb, accept, reject and create.:)

There is honestly no one I look up to. Not because I'm perfect but because of the diversity of the work I do. Quite often, I received comments from friends that they always recognized my design.

The project he is most proud of.

This is a difficult question. But let it be - voli.me. We created an e-commerce platform, logo, campaign, and accompanying materials for them. The best feeling was when we presented the logo. They had 30-40 solutions for the logo and name of the platform, which was done for them by a renowned company from Belgrade. After that, we came up with a name and a logo and delighted them.
