Time to meet the Technical Lead at Inoxoft, Volodymyr!

Why did you join Inoxoft, and what has kept you here?

I've joined Inoxoft because it is the first company that truly showed its Values during the hiring process. The process was quick and straightforward - it took only a week. Also, everything was transparent - I had a chance to speak with a team and familiarize myself with the project and its main challenges.

After several years here, I see that my first impression was right - the company follows its Values and has a friendly and professional atmosphere.

What are your primary responsibilities and what does your day-to-day look like?

My day starts with checking different metrics and alerts to make sure everything works as expected and no incidents happened overnight. After that, I have a stand-up meeting with other team members where we discuss current tasks and sprint progress. For me, stand-up meetings are like a heartbeat that reflects the health of the delivery process - we can identify potential problems and blockers that allow us to quickly and proactively react to them. Usually, I make a cup of tea (I'm a tea person) after a stand-up meeting and have individual meetings with the team members to resolve different issues or gather more information about some kind of issue. After lunch, I have different development activities - code review, spike, PoC preparation, etc. At the end of the day, I have meetings with BA and PM regarding further development stages and project delivery status.

In your opinion, what are the hallmark traits of a great Technical Lead?

In my opinion, a great Technical Lead is a person that is both business-oriented and technical savvy. This person needs to have skills in all areas of modern development - backend, frontend, DevOps to understand how different parts of the app work and how to combine them. Also, this person should have a deep understanding of real business needs and how to achieve main business goals.

What do you find to be the most exciting aspect of Inoxoft?

For me, the most exciting aspect of Inoxoft is career opportunities. The company provides a lot of self-development - starting from courses on different platforms to a personal educational budget that I can spend on any learning staff. The coolest option, for me, is competence coordination - everyone has an assigned competence coordinator, who is an expert that can help you with any questions. It is especially helpful for junior and middle developers because it has a great impact on their career growth.

Are you an iPhone or android type of person?

I'm an Android person =)

The main reason - Android is an open-source operation system that allows you to highly configure or tweak it depending on your needs. Also, I like the open-source movement and believe that eventually, all OSes will be open-sourced.

What is the best vacation you’ve been to?

My trip to Chornobyl - I've dreamed to visit it since I was a kid. For me, it's a place with a strong message to the world about what can happen if humanity is not careful enough about the powerful technologies that we've invented. And humanity must take all needed efforts to prevent similar tragedy again.
