Tech 387 is a big family; time to meet the Graphic Designer at Tech387, Edin!

What are your primary responsibilities and what does your day-to-day look like?

My part of contribution comes from the creative side of product development. In that light, my day-to-day activities and responsibilities encompass a wide range of design-related tasks from the perspective of UI design. I mostly spend time using Adobe tools to design illustrations, graphics, animations, UI elements, and corporate branding styles.

From time to time, I also assist our business development team with designing sales material that represents Tech 387.

What drew you to Graphic Design? Have you always worked in Graphic Designer roles?

Arts and design have always been my passion. Before joining Tech 387, I worked in a similar role at a FinTech company. However, the move to Tech 387 has allowed me to expand my horizons and become more involved in the UI side of product development, which is something that I realised I really enjoy working on.

What has been your favourite project at Tech387?

Our flagship product SpartanApps is a family of applications downloaded more than 5 million times and is currently used by 1.6m monthly active users. Thus, you can imagine how much effort has been put into developing and maintaining this product.

It is at the same time my favourite project because it features numerous illustrations, animations and UI elements that I work on. Even though the work for SpartanApps is never-ending, I often get a sense of pride when I realise that such a large amount of people get to enjoy the app which contains my artistic expressions.

How do you spend your time outside of the office?

I like to spend time with my spouse or travel to visit my parents in the town of Kakanj.

Since early childhood, I have always been passionate about drawing and especially about street art - in common words, graffiti. When my friends and I are in the mood and inspired to draw, we would hang out and do our magic with graffiti spray paint.

As a side hustle, I also draw political cartoons for Bosnian newspapers, so most of my side activities actually revolve around arts.

What’s been the most memorable experience during your tenure so far at the company?

When moving to new office spaces recently, we wanted to add a branded touch to our 80m long corridor. Tech 387 offered my friend and my freedom to come up with a plan and draw graphics that represent our brand on the wall of a corridor.

Eventually, we ended up rolling our sleeves and spending several days drawing a piece of art that now keeps eliciting smiles on our teammates' faces while they stroll down the corridor. The drawing represents a number of themes that best associate with Tech 387 - Spartans drinking Bosnian coffee, a rocket that has left the earth and is heading towards the moon, and many more motives.

What are 3 words to describe Tech387?

The three words that best describe Tech 387 are teamwork, unity and passion.

We are all passionately united towards the same goal, and we constantly strive to achieve our objectives by operating as a unified team.
