Time to meet the Advisor at Airbyte, Steve!

What do you find to be the most exciting aspect of Airbyte?

Early-stage companies are full of hard problems and the way Airbyte partners alongside them to help them grow through these challenges is hugely exciting and rewarded.

We have a strong bond with Reading University and often gave talks or lectures to the students. 

What advice do you have for prospective Airbyte candidates?

Obtain as much information as you can from the businesses Airbyte works with, there's so much knowledge and talent in the companies that you can take on to the next project or that guides your future career.

How do you spend your time outside of the office?

I like to work on a number of side projects, I'm currently interested in the crypto economy and all the fun stuff being built on blockchain right now to help with moving to a decentralized future.

What’s been the most memorable experience during your tenure so far at the company?

Going to Web Summit together with the team was awesome, we launched one of our internal projects there and got to experience demo days, pitching and chatting to like-minded founders.

Our office a couple of years ago, many great memories and podcasts recorded in this setup! 

What has been your favourite project at Airbyte?

One of our first major projects was with an on-demand food delivery startup, we created the whole system from customer ordering through to the restaurant management apps.

Seeing the first order come through was pretty magical and we saw it scale alongside a big investment in marketing.

It was a huge risk taking the project on with such tight timescales, but it was delivered just in time.

What is on your wish list for the next 5 years with Airbyte?

Would love to see a crypto project on the horizon, we'll hopefully see the demand for dApp development build up over time and it'd be great to be part of building something using the latest technologies.
