Facing scalability issues, Jigsaw Interactive partnered with us to overhaul their system. By 2018, we rewrote the front-end using HTML5, securing Jigsaw's future. In 2019, we bolstered their platform to accommodate thousands of students, employing Kubernetes and a microservices architecture on AWS. Our efforts led Jigsaw to scale dynamically, supporting 30,000+ users simultaneously.
Challenge, approach, and impact
Challenges
Limited Scalability: They reached the limits of their product's implementation on a single AWS EC2 instance, hindering business expansion. Rapid Growth: With a rapidly growing user base, they needed a solution to support 6x more users within three months and 170x more active users over the following two years. Obsolete Technologies: Some technologies used in their product were slated to be unsupported by 2020, necessitating a complete overhaul of the front-end to HTML5.
