Challenge, approach, and impact
The application was already in production and was functioning pretty well. There were occasional bugs, but in most cases, nothing too major. The issue was the development of new features as there was a lot of legacy code. Our team, through several iterations of refactorings, managed to clear up to 30% of unused code and created documentation and clear processes for future development, as well as developed several new features to test the stability.
